Water Damage Restoration in Las Vegas, NV
Water damage restoration is the full process of removing standing water, drying a structure to normal moisture levels, and repairing what the water damaged, from a burst pipe to a slow ceiling leak. In Las Vegas you need it any time water has gotten into drywall, flooring, cabinets or a slab, because mold can begin growing within 24 to 48 hours of that exposure.
Nevada Water Damage
What we do
Water damage rarely stays where it started. A supply line under a sink, a water heater in the garage, or a roof leak after a monsoon storm can spread through drywall, flooring and cabinetry faster than most homeowners expect, especially in a slab-on-grade home where water has nowhere to drain but sideways. Nevada Water Damage handles the whole job, from the first call to the final wall, so you are not coordinating separate crews for extraction, drying, mold prevention and rebuild.
We are IICRC certified, licensed and insured in Nevada, and we work with all major insurance companies, billing them directly whenever possible so you are not paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. Our team typically arrives in about an hour across most of the Las Vegas valley, day or night, because how long water sits against drywall and framing has a direct effect on how much of it can be saved.

Signs
Signs you need help
- Standing water on floors or pooling near baseboards
- Warped, cupped or buckling wood or laminate flooring
- Soft or spongy drywall, or baseboards that have swollen
- A musty smell in a room that was not there before
- Discolored or peeling paint, or bubbling on walls and ceilings
- A spike in your water bill with no obvious cause
- Cabinets that no longer close flush or have swollen at the base
- Visible mold spots, usually gray, green or black, near a past leak
Right now
What to do first
- Shut off the water at the source or at the main if you cannot find the source
- Turn off electricity to the affected area at the breaker if water is near outlets or fixtures
- Move furniture, rugs and valuables away from standing water if it is safe to do so
- Take photos of the water and any damage before you move or remove anything
- Avoid using a household vacuum or walking through standing water near outlets
- Call us for a free inspection rather than waiting to see if it dries on its own
Las Vegas
Why water damage shows up differently in Las Vegas homes
Most homes in the valley are built on a concrete slab, which means a leaking supply line or a slow drain leak under the floor does not show up right away. By the time you see a stain, a cracked tile, or a warm damp spot on the slab, water may have been moving under the flooring for a while, which is why our inspection always includes checking the slab and not just the visible surfaces.
Clark County's housing stock is aging, with a median year built of 1997 and 57 percent of homes built before 2000 (U.S. Census ACS 2023), so galvanized and copper supply lines, older water heaters, and original fittings are common failure points. Add in valley water that the Las Vegas Valley Water District rates as very hard, around 16 to 17 grains per gallon, and mineral buildup inside pipes and water heater tanks accelerates wear well before a home hits 30 years old.
Many two-story homes in Las Vegas put the laundry room and a bathroom upstairs, so a washer supply line failure or a tub overflow does not just damage that room, it runs through the subfloor into the ceiling and walls below. And during monsoon season, June 15 through September 30 by the National Weather Service's definition, with most valley storms in July and August, flash flooding and roof leaks add a second, weather-driven source of water intrusion on top of the usual plumbing failures.
Process
How does water damage restoration work?
Done to IICRC standards, with documented moisture readings.
Emergency call and dispatch
You call us any hour of the day and we dispatch a crew right away, typically arriving in about an hour across most of the valley depending on your location and conditions. We ask a few quick questions so the crew shows up with the right equipment for the type of water and the size of the area.
Inspection and water category assessment
We identify the source, stop it if it is still active, and classify the water using the IICRC categories, clean supply-line water, grey water from an appliance, or contaminated black water, because that classification changes what has to be removed versus dried.
Extraction
Truck-mounted and portable extraction equipment removes standing water from floors, carpet and padding. The faster the water is out, the more flooring, drywall and framing we are usually able to save instead of removing.
Containment and moisture mapping
We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to map exactly how far the water traveled, including under flooring and inside walls, so drying equipment is placed where it is actually needed rather than guessing.
Structural drying
Industrial air movers and LGR dehumidifiers dry the affected structure over roughly three to five days on average, with daily moisture readings so we know when the materials are actually back to a normal, dry state, not just when it looks dry.
Antimicrobial treatment
Because mold can begin growing within 24 to 48 hours of water exposure, we treat affected areas with an antimicrobial to slow growth while drying is underway, and we monitor for any signs mold has already started.
Repairs and documentation
Once everything reads dry, we handle the repairs, drywall, flooring, trim and paint, and provide full documentation and photos for your insurance claim, since we bill most major insurers directly.
Insurance
Does insurance cover water damage restoration?
Most homeowners insurance policies cover water damage that is sudden and accidental, like a burst pipe or a failed water heater, but damage from a leak that was gradual or went unaddressed for a long time is often excluded, so how and when the water got in matters to your claim. We document the source, the category of water and the extent of the damage from the first visit, and we bill most major insurance companies directly so you are not fronting the cost of restoration while a claim is reviewed. We cannot promise what your specific policy will or will not cover, but we will walk through the documentation with you and help you understand what to ask your adjuster.
Cost
What decides the cost of water damage restoration in Las Vegas?
- The total square footage and number of rooms affected
- The water category, since contaminated water requires more removal and safety steps
- How long the water sat before it was addressed
- How many days of structural drying the moisture readings require
- What has to be removed and rebuilt versus what can be dried and saved
- Whether the water reached the slab, subfloor or wall cavities
Every job is different. The inspection is free and we walk you through the scope before work starts.
Prevention
How to keep it from happening again
- Have your water heater and supply line fittings inspected periodically given the valley's hard water
- Replace rubber washer and dishwasher supply hoses with braided stainless steel lines
- Know where your main water shutoff valve is before you need it in an emergency
- Check the attic and roof for signs of leaks before and after monsoon season
- Watch for slow changes like a warm spot on flooring or a rising water bill
- Have older galvanized or original plumbing evaluated if your home was built before 2000
Questions
Straight answers
How fast do you respond to water damage calls in Las Vegas?
We take calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our crews typically arrive in about an hour across most of the Las Vegas valley, though that can vary with your exact location and conditions. We never promise an exact arrival time, but we treat every water call as time-sensitive because of how quickly mold can start.
Can you save my flooring or does it all have to be replaced?
It depends on the flooring material, the water category and how long it sat. Solid surfaces like tile can often be dried and saved, while carpet padding and some laminate or engineered wood may need to be removed, and we will explain the reasoning room by room during the inspection.
Do I need to leave my home during the drying process?
In most residential jobs you can stay in the home while air movers and dehumidifiers run, unless the affected area is contaminated black water or the equipment makes part of the house unusable. We will tell you upfront if your situation calls for temporary relocation.
How do you know when a structure is actually dry?
We do not judge by appearance. We take daily moisture readings with meters in the affected materials and compare them to normal, unaffected areas of your home, and drying is considered complete only when those readings match. Most jobs take about three to five days of structural drying.
Will my insurance company work directly with you?
We work with all major insurance companies and bill them directly whenever your policy and claim allow it, which means less paperwork and less out-of-pocket cost for you. We document everything from the first inspection so your adjuster has what they need.
What is the difference between water damage restoration and mold remediation?
Water damage restoration focuses on removing water and drying the structure before mold has a chance to establish. Mold remediation is a separate, contained process for removing mold that has already grown, following the IICRC S520 standard, and we handle both under one roof if mold has developed.
Is the inspection really free?
Yes, we provide a free inspection and estimate before any work begins, so you know the scope of the damage and your options before committing to anything.
