Water Damage

24/7 Emergency Water Removal in Las Vegas

Emergency water removal is the immediate extraction of standing water from a home or business after a pipe break, appliance failure, or flood, using truck-mounted pumps and vacuums to stop damage before it spreads. In Las Vegas, fast extraction matters most in slab-on-grade homes and two-story houses with upstairs laundry rooms, where standing water can travel into walls, cabinets, and ceilings below within hours. Nevada Water Damage responds around the clock and typically arrives in about an hour across most of the valley.

Nevada Water Damage

What we do

Water does not wait for business hours. A supply line lets go behind a washing machine at midnight, a water heater tank splits in a garage, or a monsoon storm pushes runoff under a back door, and within minutes water is soaking into drywall, flooring, and cabinetry. The longer it sits, the more it costs to dry out and repair, and under EPA guidance mold can begin to grow within 24 to 48 hours of water damage.

Nevada Water Damage runs emergency water removal 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across the Las Vegas valley. Our trucks carry extraction equipment, moisture meters, and thermal imaging cameras so we can find water that has already moved past what you can see, then start pulling it out the same visit. We are IICRC certified (firm #261729), licensed and insured in Nevada, and we work directly with your insurance company.

Signs

Signs you need help

  • Standing water on flooring, in a garage, or pooling near an exterior wall
  • A ceiling stain that is spreading or a section of drywall that feels soft
  • Flooring that squishes, cups, or feels damp underfoot away from any visible spill
  • A musty smell in a room with no obvious source
  • A water bill that jumped with no clear explanation
  • Water actively running from a fixture, appliance, or the water heater
  • Baseboards that are swelling, staining, or separating from the wall
  • A washer, dishwasher, or refrigerator line that has failed and is still leaking

Right now

What to do first

  1. If it is safe to do so, shut off the water at the source or the main shutoff valve
  2. Turn off electricity to any affected outlets or rooms if water is near them, rather than reaching into the area yourself
  3. Move furniture, rugs, and valuables away from standing water if you can do it safely
  4. Take photos of the water and any damage before you move anything, for your records and your insurer
  5. Avoid walking through standing water if it may be in contact with electrical outlets or appliances
  6. Call us so extraction can start before water sits longer than it has to

Las Vegas

Why water damage moves fast in Las Vegas homes

Most homes in the Las Vegas valley are built slab-on-grade, so there is no crawl space to catch a leak before it reaches the foundation. Water from a burst pipe or an overflowing appliance spreads across the slab and up into baseboards, cabinets, and drywall almost immediately, and it can travel well beyond the room where the leak started.

Many valley homes are two stories with the laundry room or a bathroom upstairs. A washing machine hose failure or an overflowing tub on the second floor sends water straight down through the ceiling and walls of the room below, which is why a leak that starts in a laundry closet can end up damaging a kitchen ceiling.

Clark County's housing stock is also older than many people assume - Census data puts the median year built at 1997, with 57 percent of homes built before 2000. Galvanized fittings, older water heaters, and aging supply lines in these homes fail more often, and extreme summer heat puts extra stress on plumbing and appliances that are already near the end of their service life.

Process

How does emergency water removal work?

Done to IICRC standards, with documented moisture readings.

  1. Emergency call and dispatch

You call, we ask a few quick questions about the source and how much water is involved, and a crew is dispatched. We typically arrive in about an hour across most of the valley, depending on your location and conditions.

  2. Stop the source and assess

On arrival we help you shut off the water if it is still running, then identify the category of water involved - clean, grey, or black - which determines how the job is handled from there.

  3. Truck-mounted extraction

We use truck-mounted pumps and extraction units to remove standing water from floors, carpet, and pad quickly, well before it can soak deeper into subfloor or drywall.

  4. Moisture mapping

Moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras locate water that has already moved into walls, under cabinets, or beneath flooring, so nothing is left to dry on its own or turn into mold later.

  5. Structural drying setup

We place air movers and LGR dehumidifiers based on the moisture map, then take daily readings to track progress. Most structural drying takes about three to five days, confirmed by those daily readings.

  6. Documentation for your insurer

We photograph and log every step, from the source of the water to the final dry readings, and provide that documentation directly to your insurance company along with our findings.

  7. Repairs and reconstruction

Once everything reads dry, we scope any drywall, flooring, or cabinetry that needs to be replaced and can handle the rebuild so you are not coordinating a second contractor.

Insurance

Does insurance cover emergency water removal?

Many homeowners policies cover water damage that is sudden and accidental, such as a pipe that bursts or an appliance that fails without warning, while damage from a leak that was ignored for weeks is often excluded. We document the source, the category of water, and every step of extraction and drying, and we bill your insurance company directly so you are not paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. We will review your specific situation with you, but we cannot promise what your policy will or will not cover.

Cost

What decides the cost of emergency water removal in Las Vegas?

  • How much square footage was affected and how far the water traveled
  • The category of water involved - clean, grey, or contaminated
  • How long the water sat before extraction started
  • How many days of structural drying the moisture readings show are needed
  • Whether flooring, drywall, cabinetry, or baseboards need to be removed and replaced
  • Whether the water reached a second story, an attic, or multiple rooms

Every job is different. The inspection is free and we walk you through the scope before work starts.

Prevention

How to keep it from happening again

  • Replace rubber washing machine hoses with braided stainless steel ones, especially upstairs
  • Know where your main water shutoff valve is before you need it in a hurry
  • Have supply lines, water heater fittings, and washing machine connections checked periodically, since Las Vegas hard water accelerates wear
  • Install a water alarm near the water heater, under sinks, or in the laundry room
  • Keep gutters and drainage clear before monsoon season so storm runoff does not push toward the house
  • Do not ignore a small drip - a slow leak today is often the emergency call next week

Questions

Straight answers

How fast can you get to my house?

We run emergency water removal 24 hours a day and typically arrive in about an hour across most of the Las Vegas valley, though it can vary with your location and conditions. We never promise an exact arrival time, but we treat every call as urgent.

Do I need to move my furniture before you arrive?

Only if you can do it safely. Moving small items, rugs, and valuables out of standing water helps, but do not strain yourself or risk contact with water near electrical outlets. Our crew will handle the rest.

Will you work with my insurance company?

Yes. We document the source and category of water, the extraction, and the drying process, and we bill your insurance company directly. We will walk you through what we found and answer questions along the way.

How long will drying take?

Most structural drying takes about three to five days, confirmed with daily moisture readings rather than a guess. Larger areas, hidden pockets of water, or a slower-drying material like hardwood can extend that.

Is the water in my house dangerous?

It depends on the source. Clean water from a supply line is lower risk, grey water from an appliance carries more contaminants, and black water from sewage or an outside flood is the most serious. We assess this on arrival and treat the job accordingly. If you have symptoms, talk to your doctor.

What if the leak was behind a wall and I did not see it right away?

That is common, especially in slab homes where water spreads before it surfaces. We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to find water that traveled beyond what is visible, so it is not left behind to cause mold later.

Do you only handle water removal, or the repairs too?

We handle both. Once the area is fully dry, we can scope and complete drywall, flooring, and cabinetry repairs so you are working with one company from the first call to the last wall.
