# Accessibility Statement

Effective: September 28, 2026

Rothwells Capitol, doing business as Nevada Water Damage ("Nevada Water Damage," "we," "us" or "our"), is committed to making nevadawaterdamage.com and its Spanish-language pages (the "Site") usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities, and to helping every customer get the information and service they need. This Accessibility Statement describes the standard we aim to meet, the measures we have taken, the tools available on the Site, the limitations we know about, and how to get help, request information in another format or tell us about a problem. If you need help right now, call us at (702) 213-9556. Our telephone line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

## 1. Our commitment

Water, mold, fire and storm damage are stressful for anyone. People dealing with them should be able to learn about their options and ask for help without running into barriers on our website. We treat accessibility as part of good customer service, not as an afterthought. We aim to design and maintain the Site so that people who are blind or have low vision, who are deaf or hard of hearing, who have mobility or dexterity limitations, or who have cognitive, learning, language or neurological disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate and interact with it. Whatever the Site can or cannot do, a person on our telephone line can help you directly.

## 2. Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. WCAG is published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) through its Web Accessibility Initiative, and it defines how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Level AA is the level most commonly referenced for public-facing websites. WCAG is organized around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.

## 3. Conformance status

The Site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content may not fully conform to the standard. In our case, the parts most likely not to conform are content and components provided by third parties, which we describe in Section 11. We are working toward full conformance for the content we control, and we correct issues as we learn about them.

This status is based on our own evaluation, described in Section 10. It is not a certification by any third party.

## 4. Measures we have taken

The Site was built with accessibility in mind from the start. The measures we have taken include the following.

Structure and navigation:

- Semantic HTML, so that headings, lists, buttons, links, forms and other elements are identified correctly to browsers and assistive technologies.
- Page landmarks, such as header, navigation, main content and footer regions, so that screen-reader users can move directly to each part of a page.
- A "Skip to content" link, so that keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the navigation menu and go straight to the main content.
- A logical heading structure on each page, so that the organization of the content is clear and headings can be used to navigate.

Keyboard access and focus:

- Menus that can be operated with a keyboard. Dropdown menus have separate caret buttons that open and close each submenu, so that keyboard users do not have to rely on a mouse hover. Mouse users benefit from hover-intent behavior, which prevents menus from opening or closing accidentally when the pointer passes over them.
- The Escape key closes open menus and pop-ups.
- Focus management in pop-ups. When the before-you-go pop-up opens, keyboard focus moves into it and stays within it until it is closed, and when it closes, focus returns to where you were on the page.
- A visible focus indicator, so that keyboard users can always see which link, button or field is selected.

Forms and messages:

- Labels for form fields, so that each field's purpose is announced by screen readers and is clear to everyone.
- Status messages, such as confirmation that a request was sent or an explanation of a problem, that are announced to screen-reader users through ARIA live regions without moving focus.
- Short forms that ask only for the information needed to respond.

Images, color and layout:

- Text alternatives (alt text) for meaningful images.
- Color contrast between text and backgrounds designed to meet WCAG AA.
- A responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets and desktops, and that supports zooming to 200 percent without loss of content or function.

Motion:

- Respect for your device's reduced-motion setting. When your operating system or browser asks for reduced motion, effects such as the fixed background photograph are turned off.

Language and alternative text formats:

- The full Site in English and Spanish, with the language of each page identified in the code (the lang attribute) so that screen readers use the correct pronunciation.
- Plain-text versions (Markdown twins) of every page, which can be easier to use with some assistive technologies, text-only browsers and reading tools.
- Text summaries of the Site in llms.txt files.
- A text list of the areas we serve on our Areas page, as an alternative to the interactive service-area map.

Audio and video:

- The Site does not currently include video content, so captions and audio descriptions do not apply. If we add video in the future, we will aim to provide captions.

## 5. Spanish and plain-text versions

Spanish. Every page on the Site is available in Spanish under the /es/ address, and the EN and ES links in the page header move between the two versions. We also provide service in Spanish by telephone and in person. If you would like to communicate in Spanish, tell us when you call or choose the Spanish version of the Site when you send a request, and we will respond in Spanish.

Plain text. Each page has a plain-text Markdown twin that presents the same content without the page layout, images or scripts. This can be helpful if you use a screen reader, a braille display, a text-to-speech tool, a text-only browser or reading software, or if you simply prefer a simpler page. The llms.txt files provide short text summaries of the Site.

## 6. The accessibility menu

The Site includes an accessibility menu provided by ADAWebPro. It is available from the accessibility button in the lower left corner of every page. The menu lets you adjust how the Site looks and behaves to suit your needs. Its features include:

- Accessibility profiles, which apply a group of settings at once for common needs.
- Text size adjustment.
- Line height adjustment.
- Letter spacing adjustment.
- A dyslexia-friendly font.
- High contrast mode.
- Inverted colors.
- Color-blind modes.
- Highlighted links.
- Hiding images.
- Stopping animations.
- A big cursor and a choice of cursor color.
- A reading guide and reading focus, which help you keep your place on the page.
- Read aloud (text-to-speech).
- A page headings navigator, which lists the headings on the page so you can jump to a section.
- Form assistance.
- Keyboard shortcuts.

Your settings stay in your browser. The settings you choose are saved only in your browser's local storage, so they are applied on other pages and on later visits in the same browser. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's storage resets them. See our Privacy Policy for more information about browser storage.

Closing and restoring the button. If the accessibility button is in your way, you can close it with its X. It will stay closed in that browser. You can bring it back at any time using the "Show" button for the accessibility menu that appears at the very bottom of the page, below the footer.

Your own tools come first. The accessibility menu is an optional convenience. It is not a substitute for the accessibility features built into the Site, and it is not required to use the Site. The Site is designed to work with the assistive technologies and browser settings you already use, such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, browser zoom and operating-system display settings.

## 7. Using the Site with a keyboard

You can use the Site without a mouse. Common keys include:

- Tab moves forward through links, buttons and form fields, and Shift+Tab moves backward.
- Enter activates a link or button, and the Space bar activates buttons and checkboxes.
- The caret buttons next to menu items open and close submenus.
- Escape closes an open menu or pop-up.
- The "Skip to content" link, at the start of each page, moves you past the navigation menu to the main content.

Your browser's own zoom (usually Ctrl and the plus key, or Command and the plus key on a Mac) enlarges the entire page, and the Site's layout adapts as you zoom.

## 8. Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

The Site is designed to be compatible with current versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari on desktop and mobile devices, and with common screen readers used with those browsers. The Site is not designed for Internet Explorer, which is no longer supported by Microsoft, and some features may not work in it. For the best experience, we recommend keeping your browser and assistive technology up to date. If you use a combination of browser and assistive technology that does not work well with the Site, please tell us so that we can look into it.

## 9. Technologies the Site relies on

The accessibility of the Site relies on the following technologies working with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plug-ins installed on your computer or device:

- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- WAI-ARIA

The Site's core content is delivered as HTML, so the text of each page is available even if some scripts do not run. Some interactive features, such as menus, pop-ups, the chat assistant, the damage check and the map, require JavaScript.

## 10. How we assess accessibility

Accessibility of the Site is assessed through self-evaluation by our website provider, YelloPost, during development, including keyboard checks of navigation, menus, pop-ups and forms. We have not commissioned a formal accessibility audit by an independent third party. As the Site changes, we review new and updated content with accessibility in mind and correct issues as we find them or as visitors report them to us.

## 11. Known limitations and alternatives

Despite our efforts, some parts of the Site may not be fully accessible. The limitations we know about, and the alternatives available, are:

- Interactive service-area map. The map may be difficult or impossible to use with a keyboard or screen reader. The same information is available as a text list of service areas on our Areas page, and you can call us to ask whether we serve your address.
- Third-party review platforms. Reviews on Google, Yelp and Facebook, and links to those platforms, are controlled by those companies. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of their websites. If you have trouble reading reviews, call us and we will help.
- The embedded Turnstile check. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check that usually runs invisibly. On rare occasions it may ask for an interaction, which could present a barrier for some users. If you cannot complete a form for any reason, please call us at (702) 213-9556 or email support@nevadawaterdamage.com instead.
- Linked insurance company and government websites. The Site links to websites operated by insurance companies and government agencies, which we do not control and whose accessibility we cannot guarantee.
- PDF and other documents. The Site does not currently rely on PDF documents. If we link to PDFs or other documents in the future, some may not be fully accessible, particularly documents created by third parties. We will provide the information in another format on request.
- The chat assistant. Automated chat may not suit everyone or every assistive technology. You can always call, text or email us instead.

## 12. Third-party content

Some content and features on the Site are provided by third parties, including the accessibility menu provided by ADAWebPro, the Cloudflare Turnstile check, map tiles provided by Esri through the Leaflet library, fonts from Google Fonts, and the review platforms and other websites we link to. We choose these tools with care and configure them as accessibly as we can, but we do not control how they are built and cannot guarantee their conformance. If a third-party component prevents you from using the Site, please tell us and we will help you directly and look for a solution.

## 13. Alternative formats and other ways to get information

If any information on the Site is not accessible to you, we will provide it in another way at no charge. For example, we can:

- Read the information to you over the telephone and answer your questions.
- Email you the information as plain text.
- Provide the information in Spanish.
- Take your request for service over the telephone, so that you do not need to use a form.

Tell us what you need and how you would like to receive it, and we will do our best to meet your request.

## 14. Accommodations when we serve you

Accessibility matters when we are at your property, too. When you schedule or receive Services, we welcome requests for reasonable accommodations. Examples include:

- Communicating in the way that works best for you, such as by telephone, text message or email.
- Scheduling that takes your needs into account.
- Service in Spanish.
- Updates about your job by text message or email.
- A person on the telephone who can walk you through documents, such as a work authorization or estimate, before you sign.

Please tell us about any accommodation you need when you call or when we arrive, and we will work with you.

## 15. Feedback and requests for help

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Site. If you encounter a barrier, have trouble using any part of the Site, or have a suggestion, please contact us:

- Telephone: (702) 213-9556, answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Email: support@nevadawaterdamage.com.
- Mail: Nevada Water Damage, 3011 S Valley View Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89102.

What to include. To help us understand and fix the problem, please tell us the address (URL) of the page, what you were trying to do, the problem you experienced, and, if you are comfortable sharing it, the browser, device and assistive technology you were using. Please also tell us how you would like us to respond. You do not need to provide all of this information to get help.

Response time. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 2 business days. If you need help with an urgent situation at your property, please call us rather than emailing, because our telephone line is answered 24 hours a day.

## 16. Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may escalate it to Peter Banyai, our founder, by writing to Nevada Water Damage, Attn: Peter Banyai, Founder, 3011 S Valley View Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89102, or by emailing support@nevadawaterdamage.com with the subject line "Accessibility Complaint - Attn: Peter Banyai." Please describe the issue and any steps you have already taken. We take complaints seriously and will review your concern and respond to you.

## 17. Legal framework

Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability by businesses that serve the public, and other federal and state laws also address accessibility. We refer to WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard that guides our efforts on the Site. This Statement describes our goals and practices. It is not a legal opinion about the requirements of any law and does not create contractual obligations. Nothing in it limits any right you have under applicable law.

## 18. Ongoing effort and review of this Statement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. Websites change, technologies change and standards evolve. We review the Site as it changes, correct issues as we find them or as they are reported, and update this Statement when our practices or the Site change. This Statement was last reviewed and updated on the effective date shown at the top of this page. A Spanish translation of this Statement is provided for your convenience. If there is any conflict between the English and Spanish versions, the English version controls.
